Why do companies take 5 business days to give out results of onsite? Most Interviewers submit their feedback immediately less than an hr after interview. Sla should be 1 day. Google is most notorious. TC: 265k YOE: 7 #amazon #faang #meta #google #microsoft
To avoid unconscious bias interviewers typically enter a day later
lol we tell people to enter it with 24 hrs and block time on their calendar right after. Not that that actually means people do it on time.
Lazy interviewers is one factor. A lot of places debrief with all the interviews in a meeting as well - that takes time to coordinate schedules. I always ask for ASAP decisions by scheduling onsites near each other and having offers to use as pressure.
Gotta meet in most cases (all). So, you need to find a slot where these 5 people can make it. Not that easy.
A few years ago Amazon "improved" the recruiting system by automating things that recruiters used to do. I'm sure somebody got a big promotion out of it. It used to be recruiters would send meeting invites and just blast your calendar. You would move around your meetings to show up, and if you really couldn't, you would work with the recruiter to find another time. Now that's automated. A robot looks at everyone's calendar and picks the first available time that everyone's free for the prebrief and debrief, and schedules interviews in empty slots on your calendar. Except all managers and most senior engineers are in lots of meetings so the robot puts the debrief out a week and even delays the interview to find time on our calendars, though only a handful of my meetings are things I really can't move and can't miss. When I interviewed at Amazon I got the offer in the afternoon after interviewing in the morning. It's really not hard to do that, but now we have this new improved system.
I think I have seen this question on leetcode or somewhere. Isn't this just a variation of missing intervals?
Is because I to flip a coin each day. By the end of it, if there are more heads I submit “hire.” If more tails, “no hire.”
