They must know how hard it is now and how much competition there is to get a H1b much less a green card. Not to mention the lines are only getting longer now that we have to compete with DACA and illegal immigrants. Why would they subject their children to so much pressure? I got my green card a loooong time ago when competition was much less. There would be no way I would send my own kids over to the US right now. #workvisa #h1b
Well, I guess the money in the US can’t be compared to most other places in the world. That is the number 1 and the most important reason. Here you can buy homes easily green card or no green card. It’s not the same in other countries especially in Europe. Most people think they will earn in the US for a few years and then decide. The problem is it is a vicious cycle. Once you do spend a few years here you get used to the good life and don’t want to leave :) it is really tough and I don’t know what the right decision is. I am in the same boat.
Having visited Canada, Australia, etc there really is nothing about the US that makes it particularly good.
Ok then May I ask what is keeping you here? There must be some motivation.
Ok! Got it just coz you got here n your gc is done , you r free to give philosophy. Everyone has choices to make n they all make good choices given the circumstances- hope this gives u insights
Even when i got my gc I had to go thru hell. I cant imagine much worse mental tortures than having to deal with the broken US immigration system and yet there are millions of parents willing to put their kids thru this torture. In fact most of these parents are already wealthy and their kids could have great success in other countries.
When are you leaving op?
OP is the same guy who posted that to buy home with cash. And he did for his 3 houses. Lmao 😂. Now here he is preaching on parenting tips. 😂😂
It’s bad only for Indians and Chinese kids due to the racist per-country caps on Employment Green cards.
The system is working as intended.
Umm... money
Everyone makes the best choices they can with the information available to them at that point in time. It's not totally a parents choice as well, times have changed.
I don't think the parents have a big role to play here, most of the time kids who themselves are adults make those choices...I made that choice, yes it wasn't easy to get h1 and I don't even know if I will get green card ever but still don't regret the decision one bit !! I only regret the few years I spend pre MS working in India as that work exp did not hold much value in US
peer pressure..they will tell how their neighbours kids have gone to US..and how they paid off their house etc etc..and when you are gone they will ask of you to come back
So when are you leaving?
