meta e6 target comp is around 600, google is around 550. Considering a move to google for better wlb. Assuming stock growth is similar, why is meta considered to be more high paying? Both tc above is assuming ee/si rating + refreshers.
600 > 550. Math

I said so much more. I guess 50k is a lot of money for you.
It's easier to get to E6 at Meta than Google. Don't get me wrong. Both are difficult and you need a lot of tech skills, large scope, collaboration etc to make it happen. But if you do that, you know Meta will promote you because they are known to reward high performers. Google, on the other hand, is always tight on promo budgets and other BS. You WILL get denied once for promo. You need a lot of support from senior leaders. They WILL find a reason to tell you you are not good enough. You won't even be considered until you complete a specific time period because there are others ahead of you already waiting. I know so many people at every level who have been denied promo for no reason. So you will go much farther and make much more at Meta over the longer run than Google. Meta stock is also expected to grow more. If you prefer a better wlb and less backstabbing though, come to Google.
Less back stabbing at G?
Lesser than Meta
Delta in refresh and raises.
It's mostly about refreshers. Starting comp at Meta is comparable. But Meta vesting is even over 4 years, plus refreshers stack every year, plus refresher amounts are large, plus median multiplier is 1.25. All in all, high performers at Meta can have insane comp delta but even median performers will do very well over time. Whereas at Google maybe you'll see 10% increase year on year.
my calc was factoring in refreshers. assume you stay at 6 for a while, get ee at meta and si at google. it’s like 50k more
I'm sure a lot of people would find value in that calc, can you share the details.
Due to refresher difference, in 4 years, the difference would be more than 100-150k
the refresher diff is 50k
Meta stock go brrr
the refreshers at Google suck due to the front loaded vest. 550k is the y1 TC with front loaded equity. you need to look at total equity over 4 years. meta will be a lot higher.
This^ Difference used to be much higher, but Google switched to front loaded equity to compete. You will face a cliff at 2 years now at Google, vs 4 years at Meta
this is based on 4 year average
Meta has better wlb these days.
Which orgs?
What's Google refresh formula? Anyone can Given am example with some numbers?

my friend does
Maybe it's different for L6+? At lower levels they are not always competitive with Meta.
