Why does Instagram hide your posts from your own followers??

Any meta/Instagram/YouTube engineers here able to explain how the hell your algos work??? I've watched my girlfriend struggle on these platforms after changes they've made where they apparently don't show your own followers your newest posts. On YouTube she would reliability get views on her videos once in a while, but now she gets barely any engagement despite having 40k subscribers. Recently she got 20k followers on IG after two of her reels went viral. She posted similar content and got no engagement. I'm not into all this influencer stuff but after finally looking at the analytics none of it makes any goddamn sense. TC: 209k

I posted this knowing this is possibly the most anti-influencer platform I could have posted this on. I donned goggles, brought a giant poncho and a shield to deflect all the cow dung that's about to get flung my way 🛡️

Are you seriously this thick? Organic reach has been dead for ages. How else will meta make money from ads if they just let followers be able to see content from people they follow? No wonder Indians are taking all the jobs.

Looks like your GF might need a good CRM platform.

Tiktok is even worse. My fiancee has 500k tiktok followers and some videos will randomly get less than 1k views. She has about 50k on instagram and gets much better engagement, very rarely does it get snuffed out like tiktok. Instagram is harder to grow but the engagement is generally much higher + of higher quality. I havent found any logic behind it other than jumping on popular trends is guaranteed views. Sometimes the platforms literally just dont serve your content

I would figure at this stage these places would have matured into stable platforms for content creators to make $$. But you're just completely at the mercy of algorithms that change arbitrarily.
