Google released Gemini 1.5 and has revealed some of the architectural changes that are enabling a million context size Why doesn’t OpenAI, non-profit research firm dedicated to advancement of AI for the world, not release any papers around Whisper, Sora, GPT4 etc
Because it works with Microsoft where people hates publishing their critical work.
Only thing OpenAI is dedicated towards is lining their pocket book and potentially destroying the world by ignoring safety.

Given that AI can be used for good or bad, maybe one of the reasons for not releasing it is to make it harder for bad actors to replicate and improve the technology. Another reason might be that some people worked hard and should be financially rewarded for that. I don't know who in this world would give away hard work so easily...
CloseAI uses many illegal data input. So the research papers can't describe the data.
Money and competition
The only thing open at OpenAi is it's name
OpenAI is evil and will fail in no time, google will eat its lunch and once again regain its prestige and become the leader of the industry
