Peaceful Protest Hasn’t Worked and Has Been Met With Aggression.
Seems like such an easy way to filter out all the low performers. There is no better way to assess a new potential hire from Amazon than looking at their forte. Leetcode skills mean 💩 Edit: I don’t think people understand what I’m saying. I’m saying that companies should use your entire performance review history to judge you. Not ask your manager how you did after you left. For the case of Amazon it would be requesting all of your Fortes. If you are PIP and latest forte shows you an LE then you can explain what happened in your interview. This industry desperately needs a process that rewards people for their impact and actual job performance.
This gives company absolute power, which makes the Industry like North Korea. Are you an employee or employer?
Because they aren’t uniform across companies and would require time to gather and understand. Do you actually want a longer and even more biased hiring process? At least with LC you prove what you know (or don’t know) on the spot and no one else’s opinion plays a role on that.
Yes it is harder to perform at some companies than others. You can make your case why your performance review is poor.
This sounds like an awful process. More work for everyone involved. @op
Because if you are a Top performer, and you are PIPed from amazon to fill URA target. You are fucked, because Amazon managers will falsify anything about your performance to meet their PIP target.
This is so true, happened to me
You can explain what happened during latest performance review in the interview
If that ever became widespread, that would just incentivize employers to give shitty reviews to everyone to discourage poaching and job hopping. Doesn’t make any sense
^this I can see someone giving their star performer a shit rating so they can't transfer or go to another company essentially locking them in place for the rest of their life until they quit the industry all together. Its a shit storm waiting to happen everyone will get banned even managers.
This is genuinely one of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard
The problem OP identifies of a broken interview process is legit, the intentions of spending less time on leetcode are reasonable but the execution of past performance reviews maybe impractical
No the issue with this is that you’re essentially not giving anyone a second chance if they perform poorly. This also is giving too much power to employers
Agree with above comments.
That will be one of the most shittiest idea one who has stayed for long in amazon will definitetly have Under Performance forte review history due to power of PIP culture
OP deleting this post in 3...2...1...
Looks like Amazon compensate top performer at the cost of PiPed team members, so that paycheck balance sheet remains constant! :P Frugal and cheap Amzn!
Oh yeah, because all managers are going to be thrilled to talk great about the guy that just left... Past performance reviews are 💩
Except past performance reviews are always there and have nothing to do with you leaving now. No manager is ever going to doctor then stop the conspiracy 🤣
You clearly haven't worked in a small/medium sized company...
