I'm trying to book a place right now, and it's infuriating that it will not showing me total price for my stay. I have to click each property and then hit reserve for it to show me the actual cost... Also, you can't sort by price? Only a cutoff for "nightly" prices. Which means nothing because most of the costs are the extra "fees" they add on. Such scummy behavior... F you Airbnb /Rant
I dislike it too. So many sites do that. Same happens with other accomodations sites and food deliveries app. It's also worse sometimes in USA, with taxes and tips not being included in the displayed price until the very end of the "checkout" process.
Yeah, charge per night $150. Total cost for 3 nights $987
Hotels do the same with the "resort" fees and a bunch of other city charges.
This is not true. I am searching and it shows the total price on the mini cards. Look under the price per night
Try looking on desktop
Check on mobile then
Pretty much every e-commerce site does this. When you buy something from an online store you don’t see the tax and shipping costs included with the price of the item do you?
You can sort with shipping on ebay
eBay is a rare breed. I guess that's where people look for bargains so the little stuffs matter.
I hope for some regulation in the hotel industry for price transparency. Much like what we have for airlines. Fyi airlines are not allowed to advertise the ticket prices without fees/taxes.
I'm all for this 👏👏
First hurdle pass hotel industry lobby.
Here's a thought. Don't rant, define the product requirements and send it to them If they appreciate it, they'll call you for an interview. You might get a new job, and the satisfaction of improving a product. If not, you know they're not worth their business.
Lol i wish, if only this ever worked.
Because of higher conversion rates, as fucked up as it is. They know what they're doing.
Some data scientists probably ran experiments and determined better conversion rates on higher all-in priced properties and thus they implement this shitty user experience. Long term churn impacts are generally difficult to account for given experiments run for a short time frame, product experiences will change making attribution difficult and the original PMs could’ve bailed by now. If you hate it, then churn. Or learn to use their ux. I just book hotels now cuz prices honestly aren’t that different sometimes (except that they actually clean during your stay and you won’t be stuck hanging with key issues etc)

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
Because they don’t want to show you the total price right away. They are still in denial that the users are being charged an outrageous price for cleaning, county tax, etc. Hence they just show you the “per day” charge.
