Why is Amazon so bad with devices?

Every month a new doorbell and Alexa/Echo come out. There are always a dozen overlapping products with no clear reason or logical differentiation. There are now two security system brands: Ring and Blink, with the latter feeling like a copy pasta of the first. Why??? #Ring #Amazon #Devices #Smarthome #PM

Promo driven development . It’s easier to copy an existing idea for your promo then it is to build a novel one.

Jealous Alexa, Luna and Kindle better than anything Google got?

Google RestVest! Jun 30, 2022

I love my Kindle. It's awesome. But Alexa is more dumb than Google assistant, and stadia has less lag for me than Luna.

Google assistant is way better than Alexa, not to mention it doesn’t try to sell you random shit you didn’t ask about.

You are right both companies were bought but we kept both brands And product offerings. They also have different apps to control and see no attempt to consolidate. I personally prefer ring brand of products for security. I do have the outdoor blink cameras but they are not very useful imo. Hopefully something Amazon can fix if they decide to trim the fat.

That makes sense. I guess it is only the internal Amazon stuff that makes no sense haha

Everything Amazon ships is just a MVP. They’re not exactly known for quality, they just churn stuff out and see what sticks.

This is the answer. Eventually one will win, and they’ll give free products to the other customers to port them over.
