I was wondering if anyone knew why meta is hiring so hard right now if they just finished laying off a bunch of headcount. Doesnt make any sense to me this current job market lol #meta
Meta after Mark met a Mota Mukesh
did I just create a tongue twister?
Yes you just did 😅
Many companies are laying off high-paid employees and hiring replacements at lower salaries.
But is Meta hiring at lower salaries? The offers recently have looked pretty high
It’s all relative.
An important thing to note is that the number of people getting offers isn't particularly high, even after passing the interviews you will need to team match.
Meta’s hire to fire culture—used to meet an arbitrary PIP quota—guarantees that many people will be labeled as “underperformers,” marked as URA and subsequently put in Focus and then PIP. From this, they will usually cast a wide net to anyone who is desperately looking for a new job at the moment—particularly new grads who are struggling to find jobs at the moment—and lure them with the promises of money and promotions. After wringing this batch of candidates with a series of (allegedly) difficult interviews, they will hire them on and immediately begin to weed them out by overworking them to the bone. This is what practically every big tech company does nowadays, except Meta and Amazon have perfected it and will gladly use it without any repercussions. Another reason why I will never work for those companies, let alone any company that employs this type of practice. TC: 105K
I think your confusing meta with Amazon .
I still got PTSD
Overhiring, overfiring and overhiring again. Its a company driven by metrics and PSC-gaming.
Discount mein bnde mil rhe hain to uthaenge hi
Hire to fire
Are they hiring in India?
They're taking all the strong people Google fired (instead of firing low performers)
Meta getting undervalued recruits from all over the industry. Good move imo
But they're paying pretty good. Bit more than TikTok which means about 30-40% more than Google?
