Cloudera has $790m of revenue while Snowflake has $400m of revenue. Recent growth rates are similar but Snowflake has slightly higher growth. Curious to know the valuation difference. They're in a similar space. I've never used Snowflake or Cloudera products so please educate me. I'm thinking of investing in Cloudera because it seems undervalued on financials alone. Growth rates at snowflake is not slightly higher it’s an order of magnitude higher. Cloudera growth is 14% yoy and snowflake is close to 140% yoy.
Just so we're on same page, I'm on Yahoo Finance looking at Cloudera's annual revenue on January 31, 2020 vs January 31, 2019. There's ~160% growth. Those are not most recent quarters though
Didn’t cloudera acquire Hortonworks? Could explain why rev jumped 160% if most of it was acquired and didn’t grow naturally
Snowflake will lose a lot of value once tech hype wears off (after covid ends)
I feel it will go up due to its unique design and value customers are getting through it. Read customer stories at their site - seems one customer got down from 6 hours to 3sec query processing time. Not sure how true it is though but definitely one of the great products.
Why not?
Snowflake is a great product but highly overvalued due to the ongoing IPO hype
Clouderas leadership sucks. Buy Asana instead
Snowflake is an overvalued snowflake.
