Why is fiscal year 2020 second quarter earning already out?
Please excuse my ignorance. But I was looking at a company balance sheet and eps but I saw data about fiscal year 2020 second quearter report out. It is not even the end of first quarter. What does this mean? #stock

Swift13 Feb 21, 2020Companies choose when their fiscal year ends, for reasons like capturing one last month of sales if there is seasonality or some kind of sales pattern. But everyone’s CALENDAR year ends in December.
Fiscal years are weird .. Our fiscal year is the 52- or 53-week period ending on the Friday nearest January 31. Our 2020 fiscal year will end on January 31, 2020.
