Why is google so horrible in except for search, gmail, maps and android (maybe)??
I was and am a great Google fan, still it's sad that I have to venture to other products, even for things where Google is there for long time!! Google chat/talk/hangout/voice....all were there long back, but hardly any improvements or follow ups....others are doing way better.... Comes up with all sorts of things duo, allo, sky but all of them feels like eternally being in beta and never becoming the best product in the segment....sad to see Google in such a stage :( Feels they need stronger product team, who actually have passion for the products they are owning....not just shining technology projects to net a promotion!!!
YouTube is pretty far from horrible, but I get that it was an acquisition (and still basically run as a separate company I hear?) so maybe it doesn't count.

Winners are hard to come by, Android was also an acquisition. Google is probably on par with others, just has more money to burn on big risks.

What are the things Amazon has been doing for long time or longer than others and are horrible in?? As I said, even though i have stocks in Amazon I don't root for it's success.....but I do for google....thus pained :(

Google Photos is pretty amazing. Way better than Amazon drive for storing photos. They're still innovating.
Photos, YouTube, Fiber, Chauffeur. Chrome, tons of good stuff... definitely some bad too though

Photos really is not leading the pack, no separate usp, many alternatives with similar features. Fiber still WIP when xfinity is already giving 150 in many places for minimal incremental....same is the case with Google Fi, Chrome was great, still good, better than many other initiatives.....hugely adopted, but now is having bunch of problems and speed, which was key is getting sacrificed with huge memory hogging.

Buddy, horrible from the perspective of a fan :) we want you guys to take each of the products you have to be atleast among the top 2 alternative in its space. Feel bad, when it is not even after sticking with it for a ling time and then finally having to leave for other options. Just understand this breaks the trust and love. I thought about pre-ordering Google home, but after seeing details and video reviews, had to decide against it, with heavy heart. Hope you would understand.

I think all three of goog, ms, fb are currently over promising on "smart" features which look good in an internal demo and PR video, gets the folks behind it promoted, and then sucks big time "in the wild", leaving bad taste in customers mouth.
