I am flabbergasted. I have seen boatloads of roles at Disney from Parks to streaming Media that I have applied for over the last year or so and I cannot even get to a recruiter. I love Disney as a company and I was even willing to take a sizable pay cut just to work for them. The roles I’ve applied for I am either perfect or overqualified for on paper yet…crickets. I can’t get my tailored resumes in front of a recruiter. It’s bad everywhere for sure but it feels like Disney is particularly hard to get into. Which I didn’t have on my BINGO card. Anyway. Let’s get this bread. 7YOE TC 345K
We just got past a hiring freeze and layoffs and are starting to open up hiring again. Also, our HR is terrible or are handcuffed by awful leadership, so if you have a bad candidate experience or don’t hear back… it might not be because you’re unqualified
Exactly this!
because you’re not woke enough
Bro go to the mouse himself and ask him. Mr. Mouse I think is his name
Look at the stock price
It’s good time to join if they pay RSU
You’ll take a huuuge pay cut going there. Avoid. Disney overall is slow. People are nice. Management is backstabbing
From my experience there, it's not pretty inside the mouse house. Those aren't his ears, those are his giant balls. And when he swings them, people are demolished in the wake of the swing. The layoffs are brutal and are not reported truthly or with exact numbers. And their TC is extremely low, which is why u aren't getting called back. Realistic TC is 150k, they may upsell with bonus if things go right, but they won't and the pool of money is split. So go in with eyes open, just my advice. And H1Bs are slave labor, people waiting 10+ yrs to make progress on paper and can't get promoted or the paperwork has to start over. Yep, seen it... If it doesn't benefit the mouse, it doesn't happen.
Here’s the thing and I’m not even kidding: there’s a good chance the recruiters were laid off earlier this year which is why you never heard back. TWDC recruiters got decimated during layoffs.
You have a better chance applying as a yachtie on Bob’s superyacht, try there instead
Hey! Can i DM for referral?
(I'd ignore the non-Disney employee advice or hawt taykes in this thread) As someone else mentioned we just got out of a major hiring freeze and things are still in the air. I'm seeing a lot of contractor roles filled but no one is talking about FTE, at least not in my neck of the woods. YMMV with a 350k person company, but this is the best job I've ever had - love my work, colleagues and TC - it's certainly worth going for if you feel like you'd like to work here.
This, OP
Can i DM either for a referral?
That’s how it works internally. Black box. No communication. Enjoy the preview
