From Facebook levels.fyi. Very similar at other companies: E3 $185k E4 $275k (+$90k) E5 $390k (+$115k) E6 $560k (+$170k) I understand the gap inbetween E3/E4 as handholding vs independent. And E4/E5 as independent vs being able to architect systems. But why is the gap between E5 to E6 so significant that it's almost E3 -> E4 + E4 -> E5? TC: $435k (L5) YoE: 4
Top talent is hard to come by. If you get to E6 you’re top talent and have a lot of options. Meta offers a lot so you choose them.
This is the first level where not everyone makes it. So there is less data point
Yoe 4 and you are L5 at google. Crazy
It’s always around 40-50%. Otherwise no one would be crazy enough to go for E6. For me in London it’s still not worth it.
Percentage wise, the jump isn’t much different to E4/E5 jump

And uncle sam takes a huge share above 400k so the difference tbh is not that big
