Why is there no YouTube competitor?

There are tons of other places to do ads. TikTok, Instagram, fb, snap, Twitter,Reddit and…Amazon.
Way back was website called stage6 from Divx but they just shutdown.

Good question. Youtube is generating a lot of money. I think it's hard to beat Youtube.

They all died or pivoted. YouTube with AdBlock is amazing. I was fine with YouTube 2018 without AdBlock too. Recently, without adblock is just eww.
Yeah too many ads now. YouTube is a reminder for me to install ublock origin when I have a new browser profile
Because Youtube has a monopoly, they can show as many ads as they want. Which they have been doing too.

I am torn. Youtube sucks for a variety of reasons, but tik tok is normalizing vertical video and stolen/low effort content. The amount of people who upload entire movies in 3 minute parts is ridiculous. Needs a content ID system, but not as severe as YT. Something inherently feels dirty about someone uploading a Minute Physics or Odds1out video to TT and get paid for it.
