I've just visited both, and while they sound impressive to an outsider and have this big hype, seeing them in person makes me sick. The closest thing I can compare them to are the stereotypes about Chinese iPhone factories; location is in the middle of nowhere, with all the facilities you need on campus so you have all the excuses to stay late, full of young people who have no life, everyone looks like a clone with a branded t-shirt, and they all live in tiny bubbles focusing on a very narrow problems with complete isolation from the rest of the world. If you work there, explain yourself. If you don't, throw in your two cents.
I just like people who are like me. Get along with them easier so that is why I liked it
There’s nobody like me, so I feel alone and isolated at those hive mind sweatshops.
What’s worse, isolated at google or poor at crowdstrike (the fuck is that?)
The money?
Why would anyone want to work in SOMA? At least Google offices doesn’t stink so bad...
I agree.
Really? Says a guy who works at infosys? A sweatshop interchangeably called as bodyshop?
Touched a nerve, did I. Seems that Burning Man afterglow didn't last long.
Good money, interest people. And I don't wear stupid t-shirts and leave at 5.30
So how much interest do you get from these people, is it compounding at 3% ?
Lmao
The casual racism is really the cherry on top of this post
You mean the "Chinese iPhone factories" comment? You know there are iPhone factories in China right? The poster's not talking about the people; the poster's talking about the labor market of a country, and there's heaps of evidence to back up the characterisation of those factories. It sounds like you hear the name of a country, autonomically link it to the race of the majority of people from the country, and trigger yourself.
Right, linking Chinese iPhone factories to “looking like a clone” has nothing to do with a racist, nationalist, imperialist attitude. Super credible and empathetic analysis coming out of Uber over here. Uber, known for its outstanding, healthy culture, not dysfunctional at all. Lmao
If you looked at their w2’s it will make you sicker so stay away
Maybe cuz they already have family here and bought their home years ago? SF is fun when you want to party every night but when you have kids and want a simple boring life it is the worst place to be. Yes I grew up in SF, and actually worked there before. Getting from Sunset to downtown is not really nicer than driving from Saratoga to Palo Alto.
Why is sf the worst place to be if you're older and not partying?
SF is Crowded, dirty, no nice park for kids to play, no street for kids to play with their bikes, never seen any lemonade stand, house/condos are tiny/expensive, hard to find parking, etc. I live in Los Gatos, beautiful hiking trails/outdoor, nice/quaint downtown, 30 mins to the beach in a nice sunny day, plenty space for my kids to bike around the neighborhood.
A response that isn’t a shit post I mean
Please explain why it's dumbass ?
