Wife being harassed at workplace

Here is what we are going through: My wife has been facing intimidation and harassment after filing a harassment complaint against her coworker. This guy, in his 60s made unwarranted advances towards her. My wife is white, early 30s and the guy is non white. My wife’s boss is black and she is simply refusing to help my wife. She, in fact said that you don’t know what black females go through when my wife mentioned she was being abused by coworker. There was no need to mention race here. I reached out to Met-life legal support and was stunned to find out that the plan from MetLife doesn’t cover employment related legal matters such as retaliation, unfair treatment or harassment. I have been paying $25 per month to Amazon for this legal plan. What are my options to help my wife ? PS: I work for Amazon, my wife works for a no name company.

Document everything and escalate to HR. keep a copy of it. Hire an attorney and sue the shit of the guy and company

What race is the guy?

American Express tdif Apr 17, 2023

He’s alluding to him being an Indian (most likely). He mentioned that her boss is black and what black people go through.

None unless you have bulletproof proof.

That's sad man. Involve HR but before that talk to lawyers. If that doesn't work about and she's let go then take this to media.

You’re more worried about $25 for the legal plan (it’s typically $10 at my workplace though)…. I’d recommend her to find a new workplace. I have seen people who report and how they’re dragged through hell for complaining. HR is there to protect the company and not your wife.

Buy Hidden camera for proof. Contact lawyer consultant for 1 hr to understand your options in details ( mostly cost 250$ per hour) Collect proof.

Have your wife document all instances of harassment, intimidation, and retaliation. Get a lawyer. Sue. Or, if you don’t want to go down a difficult legal route, have her look for a new job. Only your family can decide whether you want to fight this, it’s not easy or pleasant. Even if you came to a place where you felt like you came out ahead, you would probably still be looking for new employment. Final advice, get a lawyer to consult with, have them walk you through scenarios and options and then you can make a more informed choice.

What is your race and the abuser’s race?

American Express tdif Apr 17, 2023

I think he’s Indian, wife’s white, and the harasser is Indian.

Just leave the company

Cant say how noname companies will react to sexual harassment. You can contact lawyer. Some of them give free response just to check if you have chances of winning a case. Intimidation doesnt stand a chance as a case. IMO
