Boring is anti-airplane
Boeing, Boring, same thing…
Just have the electric aircraft go through a Boring tunnel. Genius idea, very feasible.
Boring already prepping by announcing no new airplane program this decade, no need for designers then...
Aeros downcycle was in 2020. So we’re good for another 10yrs until something else happens. The problem is you’ll lose out on the pay upside the longer you stay because cost of living jumped while aero pay keeps at their usual 1-2% yearly pay increase
Folks, any idea about WheelsUp ?
Boeing commercial is low on skilled engineering labor. They are hiring anyone and anywhere and they can work remote. But when production catches up and 777x is out the door (late '23), then pain will come as no new program expected for a decade. But if they don't design a new plane, they might as well wrap up their 737 cash cow.
I believe we have already hit the bottom concerning manpower. Hiring and lots of internal movement (especially within management) has been at an all-time high in the past year, as the reaction to the brain-drain from the couple rounds of VLO and natural attrition from people being fed up with management.
I think we've hit the bottom. Commercial planes are in demand and there really isn't any need to produce clean sheet aircraft until the backlogs are fulfilled. I think the hedge for big aero right now is in hybrid, air taxi, and sustainable aviation fuel. Those bets will buy time for the next new aircraft in 2030's.
