Will Alibaba be impacted by China US tension?
Huawei is like dead, and Tiktok is being banned potentially...Any thought if #Alibaba will be next target? What business Alibaba is doing here in the US that could potentially be targeted any ideas? #alibabacloud
Dont think they'll ban Alibaba, american small businesses and large businesses do large transactions with Alibaba and rely on them as the sole source of supply.

A lot of third party sellers buy their products wholesale on Alibaba and then sell on Amazon. That's why when you look up something like exercise bands, you see many listings from different sellers if basically the same product. These sellers will be impacted. Amazon as a whole, less so, because the bulk of their profits come from clouds now.
I see Alibaba cloud business is growing fast too, any idea if that will be a threat as a security reason by US government?
Because of the political tension I don't see it being a threat to US cloud companies in the near term. No customer will want to sign up for a cloud service that might be taken away at the government's whim or potentially attract bad PR
South China Sea is a potential trigger for a war involving US vs China. If a war breaks out, Alibaba is an enemy of US.

Alibaba doesn't have a valid business in US. It is not threatening Amazon, and I doubt it will even try at this point cause it won't be worth it.

No. Mainly the reason US ban Huawei is because they won’t go public. Come on everybody knows the privacy / security whatever is bullshit. Alibaba is on NASDAQ so no issues. Not a good thing for Jack Ma but that’s the tradeoff
