Passed Google SWE interview 1.5 years ago. Couldn’t move forward because of hiring freeze. When the one year deadline came up they said it was possible it could be extended because they still weren’t hiring yet (for my level, E3). Since then, the recruiter is no longer with Google. A week ago a recruiter reached out since I reapplied. I explained the situation and they forwarded my application and information to the hiring team but said they might decide not to proceed. What’s peoples opinion? Do I have a realistic chance or not likely? If low chance they will move forward I’d rather tell the recruiter I’d like to reinterview now. I feel like if there was no shot at all they would have just said it’s not possible and I need to reinterview. @google
