With the trend of moving pretty much everything to public cloud infrastructure, what's the role of VMware [long term]? Will it survive? I mean, for sure traditional self-hosted VMs will be needed for some time, so its not gonna die, but beyond that... I've seen their Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, which frankly I did not fully understand, but it seems to me like a futile attempt to "do something" in the area where they are loosing.
