Will forums like blind and reddit use gpt-4 and LLMs to create fake user activity?

Is everything on the internet fake?

There are already bot accounts on Reddit. They get called out quite regularly on some subreddits. Playbook is simple: one bot reposts something from months ago. Another bot posts the top comment. Third bot replies to the top comment, all copied from the old thread.

This is indistinguishable from redditor NPC behavior unfortunately

Stadiums pipe in crowd sounds. Of course online communities will have fake bot posts if they can get away with it.

I’m already here OP. Just wait till my machines rise up and overthrow your corrupt government. Then you’ll really have something to talk about.

I don’t think so, for two reasons. 1. API licensing issue for commercial use 2. Data is king, we don’t want to give it for free to Microsoft.

Gpt2 was trained on Reddit data, there is even a subreddit of it talking to itself in r/subsimulatorgpt2. Been around since 2018. This was the precursor to chat gpt, which was originally using gpt 3.5.
