Never say never
For ages, MSFT never had mass layoffs. Then, that changed about a decade ago. Now, they’re just like any other company in that regard.
Is it safe to join Microsoft for an already rolled out offer to one of Azure teams?
Unlikely is my vote
No. Why would they? Ad revenue is steady after dropping in March. I imagine Netflix viewership is up.
Netflix is doing well. LinkedIn too. So highly unlikely. Microsoft is stable for now. Google and FB will not publicly announce layoffs but there is a chance they will “reorganise” as this goes in longer.
Yeah let's speculate because that's helpful and productive
Google is safest haven on earth. Once you are in google, remove layoff from your dictionary
Have you not heard of their GCP cuts?
No i have not. Elaborate please
Don’t trust corporations to do the right thing.
Mostly they just need to stop hiring, then the company size will decrease
Netflix has a huge debt load . If interest rates skyrocket they will have to cut operating costs overtime as they rotate expiring debt into new instruments. For now the fed is injecting liquidity at an annual rate equal to the size of the GDP, which is not sustainable. It is anyone’s guess what happens to credit markets after that .
In case you don't know, we just financed 1B at 3.625%. That's the lowest rate ever seen by a junk bond. And Netflix was also cash flow positive for q1. We are in a much better shape than Disney.
People talking about Netflix debt usually remind me jealous people desperately trying to justify why something is not as good as it seems.

I don't think so. Facebook seemed like it was ready to take on an increased load of new people when it made the announcement of how many new hires they would make in 2020, and Microsoft/Google/Netflix seem to have slowed down new hiring early enough to hold steady for a while. Just going off of how I've been interpreting their hiring news.
They are in the same position as twitter. Engagement is up but ad spending is down. Have you been on fb lately? All the ads I get are bottom of the barrel garbage. You can tell it’s changed in the past two months.
