Yes they do but mostly they provide good package
We always do. But we don’t make big news because - - we usually call it reorgs. If one org doesn’t require 100 people there is always another org who will need that talent asap. - We don’t hire at a faster pace like other tech companies do. A manager once told me that he need to fill in 12 positions in a span of 1 year where the positions will open in a 2 month interval. This will secure hiring and ramping current talent so there will be a circular mentorship. There are some exceptions of mass hiring but those orgs are freeloaded with cash for atleast 1 year. - we fire CVPs, VPs, and Managers occasionally but retain the bottom feeders as there is always need for tech talent for another big bet we want to make
Don’t jinx it, don’t be an Ahole… This is coming from an Amhole.. 😂😂
You think those companies don't periodically lay off low performers?
Big companies offer an illusion of security, but you're just a number in a database. They'll cut an entire initiative or product line (and everyone in it) in a New York minute.
There’s a difference between being kicked out vs being shuttled to another secure place. Fun fact: One is less anxious and maintains the paycheck
Cisco you are making a false assumption that cuts are always selective and top performers are safe. Early layoffs are strategic. As cuts go deeper, expediency takes over, and the company has less regard for collateral damage.
Are you worried about job security at roku?
Wait for first week of august for meta earnings report. Meta will layoff like crazy
They absolutely will and they will even do so while wildly profitable. It's all about maximizing the bottom line and creating shareholder value, nothing else matters and it's never enough.
Yes
Google, apple and msft all had layoffs in the past.
Never heard any layoffs in Apple
Have you lived in Silicon Valley and heard what locals say about Steve Jobs? Laying off to him was as easy as drinking water
