I have 2 yoe in my country and currently a master's student. I am also doing an internship for this summer in US.

University recruiting is an easier pipeline to get into than the general pool is. And oddly, offers tend to be higher for university hires than those one year out (its set up so that seniors can get competing offers at the same time and be able to consider your options). I would go straight to a big company if I got to do it again.

If your experience in your own country is in a company that FAANG recognize as their standard, then that would be useful. Esle for 1 yr workex you would be considered as new grad.
