With or without him, tech jobs will come back ...
Not if Bidenflation becomes the new norm.
Yes. I can see how you might think the global inflation in response to reopening after the pandemic is “Bidenflation”. If you are high that makes a lot of sense.
The threat of cyber security will increase for sure because he will definitely open up the gates and allow his boy Pudding… oops I meant Putin, in.
If there was one thing his presidency was known for it was his kindness and support of big tech 🙄
The inflationary and tech community impacts of trying to ban religions and kick sick people out of health insurance are uncertain at best. Sedition and trying to overthrow elections probably won’t have much impact either. If he gets his way and forces the USA to default on its debt/stop paying bills that might have an impact. I don’t think it would be a good one though.
Trump wants to lower interest rates. Tech was living with cheap money. If cheap money flows back again, tech will flourish. But it can create a bubble eventually and when bubble pops, look at where tech was around 2002-2005.
Not up to trump to drive rates?
Not this time. Tech won't flourish. Yes we have short term memories, but not so short that we will ever justify paying an entru level SWE more than an executive in any other org.
Be prepared for an even bigger downturn.
Trump second term : 1. Retribution 2. Personal tax cuts (due to expire in 2025 Dec). More deficits. Republicans know how to cut taxes, not spending ( See Reagan, Bush Jr, Trump 45) 3. Russia will walk into Ukraine. Destabilizes Europe. 4. Taiff wars.
So… No?
Why would they?
If he lowers interest rates then probably, but I wouldn't count on it.
Not that kind of power
We'll see - he has bullied the Fed into doing things in the past I thought.
You know he's the one that increased taxes on R&D wages, right? Arguably one of the biggest contributors to the current layoffs. He doesn't give a shit about tech.
Are you saying that 3.5 yr after he stepped down, what he did wrong (assuming it is wrong) is never corrected by the current admin? Or the current admin doesn’t give a sh!t either?
You mean, why doesn't the house push through a different tax bill? The house currently controlled by Republicans? And yes, the orange man and the republican controlled House and Senate deliberately wrote the tax bill in 2017 to increase taxes on the middle class and in 2020 and beyond. I guess you don't read much about the legislation and believe what he tells you?
