I signed an offer with VMware before the acquisition news came up. Is VMC BU high revenue generating or the first one to get hit?
Layoffs are inevitable. Best performing BUs will also have atleast 10% cut because of over hiring which doesn’t match the style of Broadcom
Also keep in mind they may target layoffs by tenure and let go of folks they won’t need to pay severance to. Even top performing products will face cuts and newcomers and new grads may be most at risk. If you have another offer my suggestion is to take it, or stay in your current role. There is way too much uncertainty to recommend someone come into this company now. And I’m speaking as a manager with at least one open req open that I probably won’t fill.
What do you think about vRealize Network Insight i.e. vRNI product?
Sorry I don't know anything about that product.
If it's a good bump from your old spot, take it but start interviewing right away and use the new comp numbers for your next opportunity... be ready to jump November forward
Based on the EBITDA targets, assume the sky is falling at VMWare and nowhere is safe.
YES Old Broadcom and LSI went through the same
There will be layoffs in ALL BU’s. If your plan is to try to survive and not look for parachutes for a soft landing elsewhere, you’re doing it wrong.
Decline
Morale is low overall. I wouldn't join in such environment.
