I have looked at recent offers. Offers are similar to the one they were giving for last couple of years. Considering the stock appreciation, you will be earning half or even one third of your colleague sitting next to you doing exactly the same job To some extent this valuation reminds me of Tesla 2021. Legit business, great leadership. But the moment a competitor field a quality cheaper product these margins will disappear I think this situation is a blessing in disguise for companies like AMD, google, Apple as people are likely to stay put

If they can match current comp, which is generally unlikely if you’re at FAANG, I would join. Stock is absurdly high, but longer term I think stock is still a good bet + a lot of really interesting work. Also, their ESPP has a 2-year look back window which is insane at current prices haha. So you can leverage that to get some liquidity
Its 2 years moving forward from when you join... it does not look back 2 years before you join.
Oh shit really? Damn, I completely misinterpreted all the blind posts that mentioned this. Different story then. I’d still join if they can match my current comp, unless I’m close to promo and could get an L+1 offer elsewhere (which i doubt nvidia could compete with)
Current Nvidia employees have worked hard to get the company where it is today! Why would you want to earn as much as them?
Industry is forward looking. It is not what you did, but what you can offer. And there are engineers who can offer equal or better than current Nvidia engineers. My question is to them, whether they will accept the pay gap And on top of that, my own presumption is Nvidia probably has downside going forward, whether their companies may have upside
No company will favor a new employee over an existing one just because he is better. If your level is higher, yes you deserve to be paid more. Don’t forget that most current employee are making that much money just temporarily. My 4 years vesting will end next year and I will probably make half after that despite the refreshers. I agree that we should not lowball people just because the company is hot right now. Rather they should be paying more
It’s true that NVIDIA is paying same as before but difference is we are getting lot of talented candidates from all sorts of FAANG or whatever you call it these days. It’s risky to join as it was couple of years ago and I don’t think anyone can predict about market. Having said that we also lost some great candidates to other companies because of comp but overall we have more talented folks accepting offer than rejecting.
People from tech aren't exactly the best investors. Most of those FAANG guys (and people on blind) want to join/joined _after_ nvidias stock blew up. Many of those same people probably chose a meta or google offer over nvidia a few years back
That's interesting to know, at what seniority level mostly they are joining ?

You’re spot on. It’s very risky to join at this point
