Through firing, pips and layoffs wish is laying off approximately 25% of its staff starting today. I know, most people will be surprised this company even exists still. 20% pip and termination target at wish đ
No disrespect to Wish-ers, but how is your company still alive? Does anyone actually buy anything from your site? It is clearly incredibly poor quality.
Your guess is as good as mine. Most people donât even use the free cash given to us to purchase on the platform itâs so bad.
It's like shopping at a dollar store online. You guys seriously need to pivot or you're toast.
Finally đ Lost 10k on wish stock. Glad they didnât fire people early at least I could have recouped some losses. But this gave me a valuable investing lesson that never invest in a company with a poor business model and which overpays employees on debt. What will happen if they give new grads 200k like a candy and make them Engineering manager in couple of years. Bankruptcy was in the books but they kept on cashing out as long as they could.
Most of the people laid off were engs who joined in the last 18months. All the execs who stole your money are laughing banging h00kers so I donât know why youâd cheer.
What? New grad becomes manager in a couple years ?
Is Wish profitable? If not I donât even think layoffs should be their biggest concern
No they are not they lose as much $$ as they make in revenues which was 120 or so million last quarter. I would say flying around US dropping Chinese made knockoff items from the helicopter is a better business model than wish ( atleast you could probably raise some money pulling some banner ads in the helicopter)
A$$h0le recruiter at Wish who never used to reply properly and frustrated me a lot. đ¤
We fired lots of recruiters, yes some of them suck! sorry to hear your story.
No-wish whatâs your source? They never did reveal where the firing happened
Wish I knew what wish was
Wish I knew what brightdrop was
Whatâs the severance package like
$500 in Wish.com credit
Damn thatâs the whole store
Never used Wish, hated how they required you to sign up to even browse their products. But the saying "It's like a Wish.com version of ______" probably didn't help with quality optics of the company.
Doesnât need to sign up now btw, but yeah
Sure helped Walmarts optics
Haven't seem any news article on this.. when is it planned? Or they have done already?
It happened today. Been in our internal blind for like 2 weeks .
More like nobody cares
wish became synonymous with fake advertisements and very low-quality products; I take it back very low quality is a bit generous, they are pure junk. straight to the trash. nothing bought on the website is usable.
Used to be the case. Itâs much better now. Ufortunately the trust is gone
Yes I do buy good stuff but they are not easy to find out.
they are the lucky ones
Haha so true
It's never lucky to be laid off. Big Tech is doing this wrong which is giving people the mistaken impression that this is good. Those companies should have given them their final check and a month's severance -- that's all.
