Thank you!! 🙏🏻 —Original Post—- Planning to quit next week and go all-in on the entrepreneurial path for a while — no funding secured but convinced my friend to be my co-founder. Also, I got an unexpected L7 offer from Amazon somehow 🙃 L6 at Google. AI PhD + 6Yoe TC:500 K I did not think I had the experience needed for Amazon L7 tbh NW: Hit 1M today. Have never done it before and all of my corp friends are telling me not to quit corp. It feels crazy but I just declined the offer and time boxing my project for a year. Tbh, I’m not motivated to work at the corp anymore and it feels like wasting my life. The layoff of my colleagues was another wake up call. Is this crazy to quit in this market? Ya know i would totally accept amazon and do the bare minimum until I get fired while working hard on the startup. Basically make amazon pay your startup's seed round

At l7, that is PE and you will build a reputation that will follow you. Do coasting etc at the l4/maybe l5, once you get to PE you have to worry about your reputation in the industry. It's a small world.
Check out YC videos if you haven’t, so that you don’t waste time building a vanity project and build something that people actually want and would pay money for. Good luck!!

With 1M safety net, go for it.
Go for it. Amazon L7 will be there if you cleared it. Since the interview is probably fresh in your head my recommendation would be to write down the narratives stories you shared etc. And type of scope/examples they dove into. This will help you dust off once you are ready to come back - if ever :)
