Is the work of software engineers at Google really something extremely difficult? I got an offer and will start soon and I’m now mentally prepping myself and wondering if the job will be very exhausting / hard core compared to typical software developer jobs at non-FAANG companies? #engineering #swe #L3
Depends on team but mostly the interview is the hardest.
In big companies Mostly you work on existing stable projects so job is not that difficult. But you will compete with talented people for promotion.
Getting in is much harder than the actual work. True for all faang and similar level companies.
No, it's different for Amazon. Easier to get in but difficult to stay 😁.
Amazon and their lovely PIPs
That’s a relief to hear then! 🤩🤩 Prepping for interviews wasnt fun, especially cos I still had to work at my current position simultaneously 😖
lol no google is a retirement home
😂😂 nice, then i should start investing to retire early
Personally I think the work is a bit more intellectually challenging than what I was doing at Amazon. Depends on the team
Okay👍🏽👍🏽 i do like it to be challenging at times, but not like leetcode hard 100% of the time
What do you mean by this? Curious as I moved from Amazon to google
Chill bro, you’ll do just fine. If you’re in non-cloud, Work will be better and exciting than most other companies but team/team’s charter plays a huge role. Only thing you should bother is promotion as you’ll be competing against a very strong bunch of Engineers. Also, don’t forget Blind Tax.
What’s blind tax? 🤔
TC bro😭 with yoe
TC offered?
Nah it'll be easy if you're a competent engineer. You're probably more likely to get bored

I don't think so. Consider it an easy-going company. Not much stress. Something like Microsoft but more pay
