Microsoft is doing the opposite, by kicking everyone out of the offices.
One company laid off 10% of staff and everyone copied that. Soon, one of the major companies will say come back and everyone will do that. Anyone thinking otherwise is a fool. There are hungry kids coming out every year willing to do your job for cheaper.

Yep this same dumb question gets asked all the time and this is always the only true response. Remote existed before covid, remote will continue to exist going forward (and now with increased numbers from covid times)
