What is the work life balance of engineers at fb like?

Depends on the team but mostly it's really bad.
I would love an internal list of the teams with good W/L balance. I was going to go to Insta until I heard it's harsh over there :(

Infra is good, depends on team though. I was first hire in our group even before manager, so I was able to dictate W/L from the get go.

Most product teams don't have a great balance.
Teams in Seattle have better wlb; because most of them are from MSFT :-p
I thought FB has such great wlb but after talking to few ppl I realized it's not good either. So far only google has a more consistent "good wlb" feedback
Why exactly is the WLB at FB bad? Is it because of the on-call rotations? Bad planning that causes periods of overwork? Peer pressure from colleagues that don't have life outside work and code all day and all night?

Huge pay for high performance, strong peers, no planning at all (hacker culture)
Even with the brutal WLB, do you guys still like working at FB?
Yup, love it. I have learnt so much and grown a lot in every dimension over the < 2 years I have been here than I did in the 5 years before that. Amazing people, awesome manager, great perks and pay with no political bullshit.
Great now go back to pushing that code commit so my FB stock will go up.
It's not good.
And is Uber better?
