How is work life balance at Facebook's Seattle office? Do managers set unrealistic estimate? Are people exepected to work insane hours? Is it possible to advance your career if you produce quality work?
It's as good as you want it to be. I work 35 hours a week and get exceeds expectations ratings. A lot of my peers work 50-60 hours and get greatly exceeds ratings. On most teams you can meet expectations and have great work life balance without too much trouble, but the company is filled with overachievers who love to work. I personally don't think so much extra work is worth the reward.
Depends on the team, manager, and role. Yes it’s possible to work insane hours. Yes you can advance quickly if you produce impactful work.
Define insane :)
