I always see people from other countries. (No im not being racist, xenophobic whatever label you think of) working as gas station attendants. How do they get visas for that? What is the process? I know with tech it’s h1b but I don’t think it’s possible to do h1b with working at a job like that. Is it student visa or somthing else?
They save up money and buy businesses you goof.
Ask them
GC or USC, can work anywhere. Majority, has one of those. If not, some people do tend to work illegally to survive (for lower wages and working hard - should appreciate them for picking up whatever they can).
Most of them buy those locations to migrate.
That makes more sense. So they can buy a business from India and then move here to manage it basically?
Indians who work at gas stations are usually owners of the business or family members of the owner.
So when an owner buys it and they move overseas to manage it do family members get work visas? How does it work? Or is it more under the table?
They sponsor them usually.
One of there family members usually own the business and sponsor there visa till they citizenship, once they do they bring over another family member to sponsor to work till they get citizenship rinse and repeat. There are often some tax benefits from hiring someone on visa depending on where you are
GC or citizen by family immigration or working illegally.
They are in a visa category called C1B - cross the border
🤣

Why do you think they’re on visa?
Because they are not born here I know because of accents.
