Workday - pipeline engineering team

Hi folks, can somebody share there views about pipeline engineering cloud team at workday? Based on job description, looks like more of a SRE/DevOps specific role. Not sure why they are hiring software engineers for that team? Also is pipeline engineering team better or query team (provides data services for analytics and reporting)? #tech #workday
