Hello :) I'm picking up a Software Engineering job at Workday and will be moving to their Boulder office. Anyone from Boulder or Workday's Boulder office have thoughts/advice? How is Boulder? How is the Workday Boulder office, specifically? Anything I should consider before moving? Tell. Me. Everything!!! TC: 153k YOE: 1.5 + grad school Also, how does this TC compare with other salaries for my experience (in Boulder)? I've looked at websites and it seems to compare well, but I'd love to hear from people on Blind. This is my first post on Blind, I'd really appreciate some help/advice :) #engineering #software #swe #workday #boulder #advice #tc #softwareadvice #softwareengineer #softwareengineersalary #entrylevel
Do you like granola, cold weather and hippie chicks?
I'm in that office but live in Denver. Commute is ok, but I've never been a fan of Boulder. The office is decent size and there's a snack kitchen (admittedly I'm a little biased on that coming from Google) but it's not bad and everyone is friendly. At 153k, as long as you're managing your money right housing can be affordable. A car is almost a requirement when living in Colorado, otherwise public transportation is trouble
thanks, this info helps! i was looking to live close to the office and walk/take the bus. seems like that may not be the move? actually, can i DM you about housing options?
You can dm me, but I don't have very detailed knowledge of housing in Boulder.
Great office & ppl
Boulder is nice especially if you’re into outdoor stuff. It’s safe and a wealthy community. More affordable housing nearby too. Plenty to do in Denver 30 mins away.
