Workday decided to schedule maintenance for their app around 9 to 11 AM ET or so on a Monday. The app is currently down. Why would you do this?
They do this bs 3/4 weekends in a month. Rookies.
They apparently do it all the time. I was listening to some presentation by the Oracle HCM Cloud team (WD's competitor). According to those guys, WD takes the whole smack offline every week for updates... probably not on a Monday morning in most cases though. I wonder why. Can WD not just flip pre prod into production with no down time like everyone else with a website?
Yeah I don't get that either. I feel like applications being down for scheduled maintenance is something from like the 2000s.

Because sometimes you can't help when things break
I definitely appreciate that. I mean GH has had outages during business hours. I just dont understand why youd do scheduled maintenance at this time.
It likely was not scheduled. That’s just the canned message
