I’ve been approached by a recruiter for a contract position at Nike. Can someone share inputs on how does working as contractor at Nike looks like? Do they convert to full time ? YOE: 3+ TC: 110K
I worked as a contractor for about 2 years Depending on the team, work might be fun I loved Nike, really great place to work Opportunity for growth exists They rarely convert to fulltime Most don’t
What usually determines if a person converts? I start this Monday and I’m not sure if I should continue looking for a full-time position while I work there.
I have not seen conversion at all, in fact, the fastest way to convert is to work there, get some connections, leave, have them refer you Or applying for positions through Nike recruiters
Also a note on conversion. You will typically get a pay cut due to the factor you will get Nike benefits. I’ve seen contractors that want to stay contractors because they are getting such a high rate and don’t want to climb the political ladder.
I interviewed with Nike for a contract role. Team and HM seemed awesome and would really be great to work with. Would have wanted worked there if pay was higher.
I recommend you take it if it meets your requirements. Nike seems like a great culture Co.
With the latest reorg, Nike will no longer convert ETWs to FTEs. When your ETW contract is up, if your team wants to keep you, you will have to re-interview for the FTE position. ETW employee benefits are not comparable to those that FTE's get: - No Swoosh employee discount (FTEs get 40% off nike.com) - Only a once a month purchase opportunity from the employee clearance website - No stock - You pay for your own medical, dental, vision, and life insurance but at a more favorable rate thanks to Nike's group benefits The rest of your experience will then depend on how conscious of a manager you have: - No PTO, holidays, or sick days; but some managers allow you to bill overtime to make up for it - No official performance reviews - if you do re-interview and get a FTE position, your time spent as an ETW will not be counted by HR; but, again, some managers will look at your entire performance, ETW work included, at Nike when evaluating for promotions

It’s based on the team. Tech or digital? Please note that there is a 2080 hour rule ( ETWs can work 1 year and can extend another 6 months if your director approves) . After that you need to take mandatory 3 months break or come with ITO vendors.. good luck.
Thanks for your response. It’s based on tech team.
