I understand there are tons of reviews out there but i just want ask do you recommend working at Oracle ? Pay Benefits Culture Work environment Projects you work on Management
If you ask Blind you will get a ton of negative feedback, but I don’t want to negate other people’s experiences. I can only tell you my personal experience - I joined as a new grad a year ago, I am happy with my pay (190k with stock appreciation). My manager and team are very respectful and generally the culture is positive and polite. I enjoy the projects I work on, if I want to work on something else, my manager is very accommodating and sees to it that I take on more difficult tasks if I ask for it so I feel challenged. On the flip side: Some of the internal tools and processes don’t feel as streamlined as they should be, there is a general air of bureaucracy around things, and there is more of a focus of getting something done quickly rather than being as technically sound as it could be.
OCI is a shit org and company. They pay well, but many other better companies pay similar.
Don’t sweat it, Amazon is no better.
I’ve worked at both Amazon and OCI and I much prefer Amazon over Oracle
Oci is worse because oracle ended up hiring tons of people from amazon. Dirty fish spoil the entire ocean
We have a bunch of less or equal architects coming from Amazon and we are constantly in ops. I’m in an oncall page right now.
is oracle 95% indian or there is some diversity in sight?
It is a pretty conservative estimate.
It’s very diverse. Not all usual mono like other tech companies.
Oracle is a decent place to work. The comp and benefits are good. The culture can be good but that's depending on what org you're in. I have a great variety in the projects I'm on and the workplace itself is solid. Because let's be honest, beanbags and PlayStation don't make a good office. The biggest issue for me is that getting promoted or a raise is far too complex and involves a lot of BS.
It is exactly in the order you mentioned from great to worse. (Pay to management)
Yes, recommended, it’s great 🤟
Depends on role and team. If you provide more details on team it will be helpful

OCI is toxic but definitely better than Amazon.
