Working for Big Oil company (Chevron, Shell, Exxon, etc) is one of the best thing for young people. For following reasons: You usually live in the middle of nowhere, and live and eat for free. (no expenses, nowhere to spend your money) . Which is very good for saving. Also , you usually fall out of regular social events which is also results in less money spending. Like you work for oil company for 7-8 years, invest agressively, spend minimum. And you will thank yourself in your 30s. Maybe this lifestyle is not suited for everyone, but for majority young people it's still one of the best options. You probably will be spending maxium 15-20% of your salary for expenses, usually it's 10%. The rest 90% goes to investment, savings, etc.
Is this what shitposting means?

One simple trick: be depressed and have no life and you can make the number go higher!
Why not just stay with parents
This is fucked…
Spending your 20s saving and investing in money versus investing in life experiences, I think everyone should pick the latter. Be conscious of your wealth and disciplined, but know that there’s more to your youth than money.
TC? Working in tech is more money even after accounting for living expenses.
Can agree, I’m looking to leave to tech after 7 years in CVX. Culture has gone to shit, pension plan is pennies on the dollar, no career growth. Many younger folks are jumping ship.
Lmfao your 20s is for your social life, not to save money in the middle of nowhere
Or you stay in a podunk oil town where landlords know exactly how much you make and gouge you for rent. It’s not nearly as certain a thing as you present.

Google laid off 200+ in core team
I don’t think working for companies that poison the planet and leave it worse for future generations is good at any age. I’d even say it’s immoral.
@Google, everyone has their price. I'm sure if they double your salary , u would be working for them
As opposed to the morally upstanding google…
