I just moved to Bellevue for work and I need to decide whether to live on the west side or the east side of Lake Washington. I’m a 29 year old single male. My team is remote so I don’t need to go into the office, but I’d like to once per week. I have a small network of friends in the Wallingford/University area, but I don’t know anyone on the east side. I need a place for Apr 1. The way I’ve heard it described… West side = more fun, longer commute, dirtier/sketchier, more to do East side = more relaxed/chill, easy commute, cleaner, kind of boring, more expensive Question for the locals: Which side of the lake would you live on if you were in my shoes? TC: $160K
If you are only going into the office once a week stay on the west side.
If you are single you are looking for a mate. What type of mate do you want - a Westside one or Eastside one. Choose location accordingly.
West side for sure. The east side is endless urban sprawl that requires a car to go anywhere. It represents everything wrong with American development.
I would pick the west side. Restaurants, night life, more single people IMHO, and more things to do.
If all your friends are on the west side, living on the east side will make it a big pain to ever see them.
How about on the lake 🛶🛳
