How is it? For family? Food? If hybrid where to live?
Northwest DC is good area, avoid east. If you don't have a definite need to be in DC itself it's probably best to move outside to VA/MD on a metro line that takes you to your office.
Northern VA around Fairfax, Tysons, McLean is more family friendly but if you work in DC proper it will be a hell of a commute. Food is pretty good, lots of options from high end restaurants in DC to ethnic cuisine in Nova and Maryland
DC is nice. Great public transit. Lots of jobs in govt and govt adjacent. Where you live probably depends on age and marital status. If young, live around Columbia Heights or Adams Morgan. If older and married live in Arlington or Maryland. Both of those are over simplifications though as there are lots of neighborhoods and options. Generally, NW will be more expensive/safer and NE and SE will be a bit poorer and less safe.
Married with 2 young children
Unless you like city life, you’ll probably end up in the suburbs around DC in Maryland or Virginia. If you work in the city, then I’d prioritize getting on a metro line. Depends what your budget is and where your job is… Maryland -Chevy Chase -Bethesda -Silver Spring -Potomac Virginia -Arlington -Alexandria -McLean -Tysons -Vienna
I hate the DMV. But only because a DMV girl broke my heart.
Will your hybrid location be the McLean office? If so, then look west of McLean. Tons of things to do, close to airport, Metro across from office, and schools are decent.
Between Baltimore and DC
I meant west of McLean. I have only been to the Dell office in McLean.
