Worth joining Cloudflare?

Here is my situation. This week i started in a new job. It is 100% remote and chill & very stable. Colleagues are excellent. No politics. Very laid back env which i like. The only downside is tc is a bit low. 210k and i m in my 40s. Cloudflare reached out for interview for Sr sw engg position. Will be full remote too. But manager said it might be a bit of startup like culture. Now assuming the best case scenerio that i get cloudflare offer. Is it worth moving there? How much tc can they offer for sr se engg? Lets say 270k. That will be 60k more than my current tc. But wlb, culture, politics, work pressure etc are all unknown. But i know work will be better in CF than my current where i m not going to learn any new skill. What do folks advise here? Tc 210k #cloudflare

Why not give it a try? Btw, 210K for Sr SWE is low. The big tech in FAANG pay double. Something to consider if you're thinking about early retirement.

I wrote, its a laidback old company. Low work pressure. Like 3-4 hrs a day work max. Also can CF offer 300k+ for a sr sw engg role?

No point in pulling hairs over a hypothetical scenario. Definitely interview and mull it over after you get an offer

Yep, get the offer first then come back to this post. A lot can happen, pass interviews but position cancelled, etc

Cloudflare comp is also low. No bonus just base and equity

RSUs are pretty low as well

@flexport how low? Any idea for sr sw engg tc range?

TC is low at Cloudflare. Morale is not that great right now. Stay where you are if it is chill and stable

How low? Sr sw engg at 300k possible ?

Cloudflare networth-y Mar 22

300 base? I think it might be a stretch. Don’t know enough to verify that. The other factors at play are no 401k match, poor to zero refreshers (and little raises), health insurance is really bad and micromanagement is rampant. There is also no on call compensation for engineers (funny enough in countries where it is required, we still don’t do on call comp)

Ops, is your company hiring ? I'm in my mid 30s & I'm willing to take that 210k old laid back remote job

Hmmm… not hiring. But looks like it wont be a good decision to change my super chill, 0 pressure, full remote 210k job for a mere 60-70k more. (I m the Op)
