Got two offers recently, one is with Microsoft (redmond) and other with palo alto networks (bay area). Microsoft level: 63 ( initial offer) non-azure base: 165 k Target bonus : 15% Rsus : 200 k , 4 yr vesting sign on : 50k Location : redmond, wa TC = 165 *1.15 +200/4+50/2 =252 k palo alto networks(final offer) base: 200 rsu :400 target bonus: 40k (18%) TC = 205*1.18+ 400/4 = 340 k Nothing great about MS offer except location. Wanted to settle down, start family etc. But MS recruiter is not willing to negotiate at all. Recent MS level 63 offers in other blind posts seem to be 310+, but am not having any luck here. Any negotiations tips here ? what do 340 in bay area compare to in seattle ? Worth considering MS offer ?#microsoft #compensation #misc Yoe : 11 Current TC : 240
Which group in PANW? I saw some threads where people said some groups in PANW were bad. I think one of the cloud teams. So do some research first.
It's cloudgenix, recent acquisition. They are in sdwan area.
I think PANW is regarded as a company that is going to do really well in the long run.
Can you afford a 3 bedroom house for that family you want to start in the Bay. How much do those go for anyways?
1 M will fetch a decent house I guess, that's about 4500 in emi and other expenses. Seattle would be better in that aspect I guess.
Actually no, it’s around the same price on the Eastside.
Yoe? Can u negotiate level 64? But 310 on 63 in BS for microsoft. Some outliers will disagree but that’s the truth. 90k difference is quite a bit but I wouldn’t join PAN just because of their leadership/ recent 2-3 quarter results etc.
Yoe 11, tried talking to team about moving to level 64 , but they are pretty adamant about level. We don't want to set you up for failure etc .
Didn PANW beat expectations in recent quarters? They seem to be doing well
