Been at G 10 years. 4 years CME at L7. No path to grow in current team and position. I have two options: 1. Internal transfer Pros: best culture. Rest and coast. Best tool Cons: reset . Comp is still low end of L7. G internal tool not reusable outside G. 2. Jump to FB Pros: tc increase 60%. Interesting area. Cons: lots of unknowns like culture, pip. Bad tools Given that I need to reset anyway. I am leaning towards 2. Any suggestion from experienced googler or returned googler?

I used to be at Goog. What was most shocking to me was a willingness to take a pay cut due to some weird sense of intellectual superiority, among many people there.
Go ahead and make the jump. If you don't do it now, sounds like you'll spend your entire professional life at G. You can always come back later if you want to coast
