If a team accepts you, they will send you wherever that team is. Basically you might have to find an alternate team. But first ask the manager if he is okay with you working remotely for a year until you become eligible for L1. After that they can transfer you to USA.
If you are yet to join, they'll just rescind the offer.
People have been terminated from Microsoft because they couldn't find a job with another team in another office.
I still have two more H1B tries. Would they rescind even then? Say if I join and after 2 years I won’t get H1B, what would they do?
HR & immigration suggest relocating to the employee's home country as the first option if there's any MSFT office. Otherwise, it is a bit tricky.
