For example, if the candidate believes Taiwan belongs to China, thinks China had the right to annex Hong Kong, supports the nine-dashed line, believes Aksai Chin or Arunachal belongs to China, thinks China is going to overtake the U.S., supports the CCP, supports the Tiananmen Square Massacre, or has worked for TikTok, Huawei, Alibaba, Ant Finance, Tencent, or Baidu.
Why would I care..
Because to avoid risks like this https://www.seattletimes.com/business/ex-boeing-analyst-gets-more-than-15-years-in-prison-for-espionage/ There are so many incidents
it depends, are you building something china would bother stealing? then do your due diligence, otherwise it doesn't matter
How would that even come up in the interview process?
How you determine all this ? Meta interviews are LC based so there is no way a conversation that you can learn all those things from the candidate
The real question is why would ask them such questions? One is not supposed to ask political questions. I'm shocked this is even happening If the candidate brings any political or discusses geo political stuff, I would inform hr about it and recuse myself from the interview irrespective of whether I agree with the candidate or not.
yes he/she/they is a security threat to the company. committed to spy for CCP - not with me!
I suspect that the Venn diagram of CCP supporters vs people who use “they” as their pronoun doesn’t have a lot of overlap.
wrong suspicion. this is exactly what they want you think - they use it to deflect from their CCP bias and appear woke. Think about it. Camouflage.
Is ccp affiliation a leecode hard?
How did you find all this out in the first place is the biggest concern tbh… Ok CIA lol
I'm Taiwanese and even I think this post is kind of unhinged lol. All I'd care about is if they passed the interview question. I'd have to idea about their political beliefs anyway.
naive
I would hire them, and keep a very close eye on their activities. As soon as I collect evidence of them retaining company proprietary information, for example, downloading and storing them in their personal USB or cloud, I'll tell the FBI. Otherwise, I would consider them a good hire, they work hard.
lol depends on what kind of job they were being hired to do. Surprised this isn’t an option.
