Just saw a post on blind mentioning that HPE is buying Juniper Networks. Just wanted to take a poll to see if the same thing were to happen with Cisco, which company do you think will buy it and why? If other, please mention the company name. I believe Cisco is a sinking ship and it cannot withstand the competition in the long run provided the management remains the same so it better join some alliance in the tech war. It’s too big.
Depends on price obviously, everything is worth buying if cheap enough just for the IP then layoff everyone. The management is trash and they destroyed WD
Broadcom
No one is dumb to shell out 200B+ for Cisco. Unless for some unfortunate reasons it trades at around 100B market cap, maybe someone might get interested, even then chances are slimmest.
I believe their security and webex group each bring more revenue than all other networking providers. Plus diversity of businesses, they even own meraki
Maybe we could merge with some company. An outright buy of cisco would probably be too much.
Outright buy is difficult no one is gonna shell 200 /300B . Merger is possible with other networking or Security giants like Palo Alto or even Microsoft.
I agree with you. I feel like Microsoft can pull it off easily.
Why would MS or any cloud company buy Cisco when they already build their internal network equipment?
Definitely not Amazon. Hardly any of our networking stuff is even Cisco and on-prem networks kinda clash with the whole cloud thing :D So that that prob rules out Microsoft and Google too. Seems like a lot of baggage to take on.
Why not Cisco? Oci too was no Cisco till like last year
Juniper is more API friendly
Yes albertsons will buy it. Smh read about market caps
