Offers from all three, and I would be thrilled to work at either one. I've heard both negatives and positives about each, though I don't know how much to weigh these pros/cons against one another. Goal is not to maximize TC, I'm young and I want to know what you guys think would be the best place to start at. My bad for not updating TC - BB: TC: 170 - 150 base, 20 bonus Amazon: TC: 157 - 120 base, 22 stock, 15 bonus Quora: TC: 180 - 130 base, 45 stock, 10 bonus Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. #quora #bloomberg #amazon
What team, benefits other than TC, WLB, value on resume and scope to grow in the role. These are the things you might consider.
Without knowing Tc I would vote for Quora if you want to learn. They paid high internship salaries and problems are relevant also the website is here to stay. If you care about WLB then go for Bloomberg. I rejected my Bloomberg offer to go to Amazon and regretted it ever since.
Without TC and details, folks on Blind might just upvote Amazon..you'll never know if you've just pissed them off or if it's for real..

I've worked at both Amazon, rn at Bloomberg and interviewed for Quora do I can comment a little. But there is no one 'best' place. Firstly what are the teams? Different people have different interests. Have you had a chance to talk with your manager? Good manager on a boring product >> bad manager on an exciting, high viz product Is location the same? You sound like a new grad and trust me location is quite important. Where do you want to be next 2 years, what do you wanna do? Making friends as an adult is hard for some (I'm not saying necessarily about you) but something to consider.
Honestly, on paper all 3 are very close that you should consider the other factors I mentioned. Unless you want to be at the place for > 5 years then there's difference
Bloomberg is good to chill but a lot of the teams might not have much of interesting work. There are definitely some teams with good work just my experience has been meh. It's a good springboard to other companies if you do end up in a Boeing team I'd say. And switching teams internally is also pretty easy for the most part.
Not Amazon. Personally, I would go by location. I find NYC more fun than Mountain View.
Here’s the cons that I see with each one: Amazon: Chance of PIP and vesting schedule Bloomberg: no stock since it’s not a public company, you will be hit hard with taxation Quora: Seems to still be too far from IPO for those stocks to be worth anything That being said if the team is good, I would pick BBG
Stocks or cash taxation difference is not there when paid as comp.
Wait, so if someone at FAANG gets stocks instead and holds for 1 year+ (very easy to hold since the prices won’t fall) then won’t they pay LTCG tax? Which is somewhere around 23%? As opposed to the net 40-45% you’d pay if it was income?
